Having this information already posted helps us to help you faster. Many thanks indeed. Appreciate your time. I have updated what operating system and version of avid I am using and have checked the permissions settings and they are read and write.
With regards to the folding settings, I think I have this set up correctly? I have set up the media to save directly to my hard drive where it has automatically created a folder under the name of my project where I can see my project settings, bins etc. If so, please confirm and I will change this and hopefully this will resolve the issue. If not, I'm still at square one. Something to mention I went to a conference yesterday where one of the speakers was an AVID expert.
I explained the problem to him and the only other thing he could think of was to check the media tools option. I have not deleted the files so presume they are not storing any where? I have just been on to some online tutorials which ran through the entire process of setting up projects, capturing etc and I can confirm that I was already doing things correctly. One thing I did notice though In the capture tools box, under the bin drop down, there was a box which showed the media drive being used with a drop down to change this.
The only item on my bin drop down is the name of the bin I am using. Is this the problem and why don't I have this? Is it because Im using an older version and that it is not really applicable? First, just to review folder structures, when you create an Avid project using the "New Project" tab in the select project window the first one you see when the program launches , The new project is placed inside the "Avid Projects" folder that lives on your system C: drive.
Regarding the missing drop down on your capture tool, go into your media creation user settings and under the "Drive filtering and indexing" tab, if "filter out system drive" and "filter out launch drive" are active which is the normal setup and you have no additional drives, that would explain the missing drop down.
Again, make sure you have a separate drive to write media to and that it is mounted and recognized by the system. Media Offline? Page 1 of 1 13 items. Reply Contact.
